Recent Le Meridien Gallia Review: "We were using Milan as a base for train travel to several others cities to the north and south, so this hotel's location, right next to the train station, was incredibly convenient. One downside is that the rest of the area around the train station isn't so interesting or nice (mostly cheap food options, and there do tend to be sketchy characters hanging around outside the station), but several metro lines go through there as well, so it's easy to get anywhere. The Gallia staff was really helpful, and the hotel is beautiful and well-maintained. The first night we arrived really late and didn't think it was safe to explore, so we ordered outrageously expensive, mediocre, room service. Avoid that, and your stay here will be great."

| A short guide to Stazione Centrale |
|
Milan’s central station is monumental; full of marbled halls, terraces and mosaic floors. It is Northern Italy’s largest and busiest station and, arguably, Europe’s most splendid. Most international and high-speed trains arrive here and there is easy access to the city centre by metro. Nearby soars the Pirelli skyscraper (Grattacielo Pirelli), Milan’s highest building and symbol of its prosperity.
